John Harris (Braemar Adjusting) – President

John is the Asia Pacific Regional Managing Director for Braemar Adjusting. John has over 13 years’ experience within the civil engineering and construction industry in both Europe and Asia where he gained his core professional qualifications as both a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (Cost Engineer) and Arbitrator, involved in both sides of construction contracting fence.

Located in Singapore since 1995, John migrated to the Adjusting fraternity in 2001, where his core skills were a natural fit. John has gained substantial experience handling major energy losses globally, involving both upstream and downstream assets, with a focus on CAR and Ops claims.

Lay Kuan Toh

Lay Kuan was the Energy Underwriter at Canopius Asia Pte Ltd, where she was underwriting Upstream Energy Operational and Offshore Construction risks in the Asia Pacific region. She has 17 years of insurance experience, with focus on the offshore energy sector in recent years. Lay Kuan joined Canopius in 2014 from Argenta Underwriting Asia Pte Ltd. Lay Kuan also served previously as Vice President, Upstream Energy Operations at Marsh in Singapore. She is now taking a break and looking to explore more of the world.

Lay Kuan graduated from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2000, with a Business Studies degree major in Insurance.

Nichole Lim (Axis Capital)

Nicole Lim is the Head of Asia, Insurance division in Axis Specialty (Singapore branch), and she is also responsible for offshore, power and renewable energy risks in the Asia Pacific region. Nicole joined Axis Specialty in 2013 from Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty in Singapore. Nicole has 16 years of experience and is a seasoned underwriter across all energy specialty classes.

Iain Anderson (RPC)

Iain started his career as a marine claims adjuster in the London market handling hull, cargo, war, construction and loss of hire amongst many heads of claim.

Alongside the insurance issues, Iain also specialises in marine casualty response – salvage, collisions, groundings, etc. His focus on offshore energy risks – WELCAR, COW, OEE/EED problems surround both coverage and subrogation. In the PRI and trade credit sector Iain also works with the Asia market to assist in coverage and recovery issues and to help the market raise its regional profile.

Martin Brocklehurst (Lloyd Warwick International)

A graduate in Naval Architecture and Shipping Management, Martin has worked in the insurance Industry for over 20 years and for the last 15 years has been based in Singapore.

He has acquired a detailed knowledge of the current market practice with regard to the distribution of risk within major construction contracts and has substantial working experience with joint venture companies and large corporations.

Simon Taylor (XL Catlin)

Simon is the Upstream Energy Underwriter at XL Catlin and underwrites a regional portfolio of Operational and Construction risks. He started his career with Catlin’s Energy team in London in 2004 with a focus on the Marine and Energy Liability portfolios. In 2011 Simon moved to Singapore to underwrite the Upstream Energy portfolio.

Simon graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2001 and is also ACII qualified.

Jiang Lin (QBE Marine and Energy Services)

Jiang Lin is the Energy Assistant Underwriter at QBE Marine and Energy Services. She was introduced to Energy insurance industry in 2013, she is now underwriting both upstream and downstream energy risks in Asia Pacific region.

Jiang Lin graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a degree in Business Administration.
